<div style="font-family:'Segoe UI';font-size:14px;font-style:normal;font-weight:400;line-height:20px;"><p>The <strong>LocalMunicsFloodsKZN</strong> layer represents the administrative geography used to summarise and report flood risk and inundation results at <strong>local municipal level</strong>.</p><p>The layer was prepared and used as follows:</p><ol><li>Local municipality boundary data for KwaZulu-Natal were compiled and quality-checked to ensure topological integrity and consistency with provincial reporting boundaries.</li><li>The boundary layer was spatially aligned to the same projection and extent as the flood inundation and flood risk rasters.</li><li><strong>Zonal statistics and spatial overlay analyses</strong> were performed using this layer to:<ul><li>Summarise inundation depth classes per municipality</li><li>Calculate average or dominant flood risk values</li><li>Identify municipalities with higher relative exposure</li></ul></li><li>Resulting statistics were stored as attributes linked to each municipality polygon and used for mapping, tabulation, and reporting.</li></ol></div>
