Description: Constrained Catchments are catchments where all readily available water is allocated (referred to as a “constrained catchment”), future development requires additional water resources, either through the development of new resources or the reallocation from other users in the catchment.
Description: The Dwelling Frame is a spatially referenced framework of structures within South Africa. The primary function of the Dwelling Frame is to provide a base for statistical sampling frames required for surveys and censuses in Stats SA and other organisations. A secondary function of the Dwelling Frame is the creation of a database of addresses for each dwelling and where addresses don’t exist, to assign addresses. The Dwelling Frame commenced in 2005 and initially it was an outsourced project in selected municipalities of Eastern Cape and Limpopo. After two years of outsourcing, it was decided to do the project internally and to expand the coverage to the entire country. The internal Dwelling Frame started in 2008 but due to budget constraints the project was scaled down during 2009. Since 2009 the Dwelling Frame has been updated and enhanced using data from the following sources:- Administrative sources (such as municipal data), the capture of Census 2011 Listing Records, the Spot Building Count created by Eskom, the DF 2014 Data Integration process, the Address Assignment process and the DF 2015 Update process using the Siyakha web-mapping tool. While Address Assignment continues to update the Dwelling Frame in the traditional areas, the Dwelling Frame Update process is essentially a desktop exercise using various datasets as reference data.DF2015_1204 is the second release of the Dwelling Frame to be published in 2015. It is an update of the previous release being DF2014.The coverage and completeness of the dataset as well as Feature_Cat and DU_count received particular attention in this release. The following fields still need attention: - Street_Name, Property_Name, and SDI_cnt as well as those records flagged for verification. The above issues will be addressed in future releases and during the integration and update of the Dwelling Frame dataset.
