Description: The LocalMunicsFloodsKZN layer represents the administrative geography used to summarise and report flood risk and inundation results at local municipal level.The layer was prepared and used as follows:Local municipality boundary data for KwaZulu-Natal were compiled and quality-checked to ensure topological integrity and consistency with provincial reporting boundaries.The boundary layer was spatially aligned to the same projection and extent as the flood inundation and flood risk rasters.Zonal statistics and spatial overlay analyses were performed using this layer to:Summarise inundation depth classes per municipalityCalculate average or dominant flood risk valuesIdentify municipalities with higher relative exposureResulting statistics were stored as attributes linked to each municipality polygon and used for mapping, tabulation, and reporting.
